WILLIAM AND CATHERINE BOOTH
WILLIAM AND CATHERINE BOOTH
THEIR LIFE and MINISTRY with PHOTOS
When asked for the secret of his success, William Booth said:
I will tell you the secret. God has had all there was of me. There have been men with greater brains than I, men with greater opportunities. But from the day I got the poor of London on my heart and caught a vision of all Jesus Christ could do with them, on that day I made up my mind that God would have all of William Booth there was. And if there is anything of power in the Salvation Army today, it is because God has had all the adoration of my heart, all the power of my will, and all the influence of my life.Including Catherine Booth

The Purpose of the 'Center of Hope' Community Blog
Here we will help provide news reports about shelter clients and activities, about housing options and other vital information for our people. Plus, to help provide a strong sense of community among its people.
The primary purpose of a homeless shelter is to provide Temporary Emergency Shelter for homeless people whose main focus should be on searching for and securing stable housing where they can have a safe, sane and sober home.
We know that people have five basic survival needs:
1. Food
2. Clothing
3. Shelter
4. Medical Care
5. Quality Education
Thus, we see that shelter is a basic survival need and the Salvation Army 'Center of Hope' helps to meet that need, if only on a temporary basis.
It is important for people to secure stable housing and to hold on to their housing situation. Thus, the importance of our being functional mature adults who are employable, productive and responsible in our lives.
For those of us who are renters, we need to be able to pay our monthly rent on time and not get stuck in the vicious cycle of chronic homelessness.
We will add more features and information to this blog as time goes by.
Blessings and Prayers ~
